About Casey

Puckett, 35 of Aspen, CO, is a four-time Olympian having competed in the 92, 94, 98, and 2002 games. The former World Junior Champion took up skier cross after retiring from World Cup alpine racing. Along with X-Gold at the 2004 and 2007 Winter X-Games he was dominant in the 2006/07 season winning five of the eight events he entered. After a crash at the end of last season Puckett had surgery to repair his MCL. He has come back strong in with podium finishes in all but two of the seven events he has entered thus far this year.

Currently, Puckett is ranked second in the 48Straight Jeep King of the Mountain series and fifth in the FIS World Cup standings. The Sun Valley stop of the 48Straight Jeep series is the last of three events. In the first event in Telluride, CO in December Puckett placed fifth and then placed second at the Squaw Valley, CA stop. With a win in Sun Valley, Puckett could win the overall title, depending on how current leader Tomas Kraus fairs.
